Ray Bradbury has died

After a career that left dozens of works that are science fiction and horror stories and mystery, Ray Bradbury has died in California at the age of 91.


 

The death of the master of science fiction was confirmed by his daughter. Today, Alexandra Bradbury announced that his father died on Tuesday in California, but gave no additional details.

Regarded as one of the biggest names in science fiction, published  a bit of everything from novels, short stories, plays and arguments for television, in particular for the series "Twilight Zone".

His best-known novel - "Fahrenheit 451" - was adapted to film in 1966 by French director Francois Truffaut. It is a narrative that addresses the prohibition of reading, censorship and the struggle for survival of books. 


The title refers to the temperature at which the paper begins to burn.

Among dozens of prizes, was awarded the National Book Award, had a special mention of the Pulitzer in 2004 and received from the hands of President George W. Bush, the National Medal of Arts Award. An asteroid discovered in 1992 was named "9766 Bradbury" in his honor.
